Driver's Privacy Policy

LAC Global Ltd (Company Registration Number 13129378) located at 45 Kipling Avenue, Tilbury, United Kingdom, Germany (HRB 33370) and Republic of Ghana (Company Registration Number CS145400721) is the controller of personal data of passengers and has appointed a Data Protection Officer (support@lacgloballimited.com).

The term "us" or "we" or "our" refers to the owner of the GO Waste app, LAC Global Limited, a private limited company, founded in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ghana.

1. Personal data we process

  • Name, e-mail, phone number, place of residence.
  • Geolocation of drivers and driving routes.
  • Information about vehicles (including registration number).
  • Carrier’s efficiency and ratings.
  • Carrier’s license, photo, profession and identity documents.
  • Data about criminal convictions and offences. The financial data of providing transportation services is not considered as personal data, because drivers provide services in the course of economic and professional activities.

2. Purposes of the processing

  • LAC & LAC’s partners collect and process personal data for the purpose of connecting users with carriers to help them manage their waste materials more efficiently.
  • Geolocation and driving routes are processed to analyse the geographical area and give suggestions to the carriers. ​If you do not want to disclose your geolocation for users, you must close the GO Waste app or indicate in the GO Waste app that you are offline and currently are not providing transportation services.
  • Carrier’s license, profession, identity documents and criminal convictions and offences are processed to determine the compliance with the legal requirements and the suitability of pursuing a profession as a driver.
  • GO Waste app displays carrier’s photo, name and vehicle details for the passengers to identify carrier and vehicle.
  • You will receive summaries from the GO Waste Portal, which will include your efficiency and ratings as a carrier. Summary and ratings about carrier are necessary to provide a reliable services for passengers.

3. Legal basis

  • Personal data is processed for the performance of the contract concluded with the carrier. The prerequisite for the use of the GO Waste services is the processing of carrier's identification and geolocation data.
  • Personal data may be processed on the ground of legitimate interest in investigating and detecting fraudulent payments.
  • Data regarding the ​criminal convictions and offences is processed for compliance with a legal obligation.

4. Recipients

  • Your personal data is only disclosed to passengers, whose order has been accepted by you. Passengers will see carrier’s name, vehicle, phone number, photo and geolocation data. Passengers also see carrier’s personal data in the receipt.
  • Depending on the location of the carrier, the personal data may be disclosed to LAC Global Limited local ​subsidiaries, representatives, affiliates, agents etc)​. Processing of personal data by will occur under the same conditions as established in this privacy policy.

5. Security and access

  • Any personal data collected in the course of providing services is transferred to and stored in the data centres of Digital Ocean and/or Amazon Web Services, Inc. Only authorised employees of LAC Global Limited, group companies and partners ​have access to the personal data and they may access the data only for the purpose of resolving issues associated with the use of the services (including disputes regarding transportation services).
  • LAC Global Limited, group companies and partners ​can access personal data to the extent necessary to provide customer support in the respective country.
  • LAC has implemented adequate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised, accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, misuse, disclosure or access and against all other unlawful forms of processing.

6. Processing passengers personal data

  • You may not process the personal data of passengers/users without the permission of us. You may not contact any passenger or collect, record, store, grant access, use or cross-use the personal data provided by the passenger or accessible to you via the GO Waste app for any reason other than for the purposes of fulfilling the transportation services.
  • You must comply with the rules and conditions for processing of personal data of passengers as set forth in the Privacy Policy for Passengers. If you violate the requirements for the processing of personal data of passengers, we may terminate your carriers account and claim damages from you.

7. Access, correction, retention, deletion and data portability

  • Personal data can be viewed and corrected in GO Waste Portal.
  • You hereby give agree that:

a) Your personal data will be stored as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected including the period of having an active carrier's account and using GO Waste services. Unless otherwise legally required or agreed, the data will remain stored as long as you have an GO Waste account. If your account will be closed the personal data will be stored for additional 3 year period.

b) Data necessary for accounting purposes shall be stored for 7 years.

c) In the event of suspicions of a administrational or criminal offence, fraud or false information, the data shall be stored for 10 years.

d) In the event of disputes, the data shall be retained until the claim is satisfied or the expiry date of such claims.

  • We respond to the request for deleting and transferring personal data submitted by an e-mail within a month and specify the period of data deletion and transfer.

2. Purpose of the process

  • LAC & LAC’s partners collect and process personal data for the purpose of connecting passengers with carriers to help them move around cities more efficiently.
  • GO Waste app displays geolocation data and the phone number of passengers to drivers to enable efficient pick-up. Geolocation data is collected only when the GO Waste app is activated. The collection of geolocation data stops after closing the GO Waste app. In some countries carriers cannot see passengers’ phone numbers; the carrier sees an altogether different number which temporarily diverts to the passenger’s phone number enabling the carrier and passenger to communicate.
  • We and our partners may use geolocation data to resolve quality issues related to transportation services.
  • We and our partner use contact details to notify passengers of updates to the GO Waste app.
  • We collect data of the routes taken by carriers and passengers to analyse the geographic coverage in order to provide recommendations to the drivers about most efficient routes.
  • Your name, phone number and e-mail will be used to communicate with you and for other purposes related with the usage of GOWaste app and its related services.
  • We obtain payment details to process passengers' payment on behalf of for transportation services.
  • Customer support data is collected on a case-by-case basis and stored for the purpose of resolving disputes and service quality issues.

3. Legal Basis

  • Personal data is processed in order to provide the service contracted with passengers. We collect and processes the personal data submitted by the passengers in the course of installation and use of the GO Waste app. The prerequisite for the use of GO Waste services is users agreeing to the processing of identification and geolocation data.
  • Personal data may be also processed on legitimate interest grounds, for example in investigating and detecting fraudulent payments.

4. Recipients

  • The personal data of passenger is only disclosed to carrier who has activated GO Waste app; in such case, carrier will see the name, phone number (in some countries the number is masked) and geolocation data of the passenger.
  • After providing the transportation service, the name and the telephone number (in some countries the number is masked) of the passenger will remain visible to the carrier for 24 hours. This is necessary for carriers to resolve any issues associated with service provision, e.g., to contact the passenger/user if something was left behind in the vehicle.
  • Feedback given by passengers regarding the quality of the service is anonymous and carriers do not receive names and telephone numbers of the passenger who provided rating and feedback.
  • Depending on the location of the user, the personal data may be disclosed to the LAC Global Limited, group companies and partners (local subsidiaries, representatives, affiliates, agents etc). Processing of personal data by LAC Global Limited, group companies and partners will occur under the same conditions as established in this privacy notice.

5. Security and access

  • LAC’s partners acting solely on the territory of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ghana are solely responsible for storage of personal data collected in the course of providing the services in the territory of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ghana. Any personal data collected in the course of providing the services is transferred to and stored in the data centres of Digital Ocean and/or Amazon Web Services, Inc., which are located in the territories of a Member States of the European Union. Only authorised employees of LAC Global Limited companies and partners have access to the personal data and they may access the data only for the purpose of resolving issues associated with the use of the services (including disputes regarding transportation services). LAC has implemented adequate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised, accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, misuse, disclosure or access and against all other unlawful forms of processing.
  • LAC Global Limited, group companies and partners can access personal data to the extent necessary to provide customer support in the respective country.
  • Geolocation data is processed in anonymised form and personalized only if the geographical location data is needed to be linked to a passenger for resolving disputes or fraud.
  • For research and scientific purposes, the data is used in unidentified form (anonymized)

6. Access and correction

  • You can access and update your Name, phone number, e-mail address via the GO Waste app.

7. Retention

  • Your personal data will be stored as long as you have an active passenger account. If your account is closed, personal data will be deleted (according to the policies set out in this section) from the databases, unless such data is required to be retained for accounting, dispute resolution or fraud prevention purposes.
  • Financial data regarding transportation services provided to passengers will be stored for 3 years after the last journey. Data required for accounting purposes will be stored for 7 years [after the last journey].
  • In the event that there are suspicions of a criminal offence, fraud or false information having been provided, the data will be stored for 10 years.
  • In case of payment disputes, data will be retained until the claim is satisfied or the expiry date of such claims. Journey history data will be stored for 3 years and 1 month, after which the data will be anonymized.
  • Please note that the deinstallation of GO Waste app in your device does not cause the deletion of your personal data.
  • If the GO Waste app has not been used for 3 years, we will notify you and ask you to confirm whether account is still active. If you confirm that the account is inactive or no reply is received, the account will be closed and personal data will be deleted unless such data is required to be stored for the purposes of this Clause.

8. Deletion

  • You should also bear in mind that any request to delete your personal data is possible only if we delete your account. As a result of that you will not be able to use GO Waste app via an account which has been deleted.
  • We respond to any request for to delete personal data submitted by e-mail within a month and will specify the period of data deletion.

9. Portability

  • We will respond to any request for transfer of personal data submitted by e-mail within a month and specify when the data transfer will take place. After we have verified the customer in question, we will provide you with you personal data, which includes: contact information, last 3 years’ journey history and payment information.

10. Direct marketing

  • We and our partners will only use your e-mail address and/ or phone number to send direct marketing messages if you have given us permission to do so via the GO Waste app. We may personalize direct marketing messages using the information how you use GO Waste services (frequency of use, journeys, payments).
  • If you no longer wish to receive direct marketing messages, please click the “Unsubscribe” link in the footer of our e-mail or in profile section of the GO Waste app.

11. Dispute resolution

  • Disputes relating to the processing of personal data are resolved through customer support (support@lacgloballimited.com) or by contacting LAC’s Data Protection Officer (support@lacgloballimited.com).
